National Vegetarian Month October
As fall harvests are filling farmers markets and grocery stores, vegetarians around the country are celebrating National Vegetarian Month. Since 1977, October has been celebrated as a month to bring awareness and renew passion in vegetarians. www.fix.com is getting in on the veggie love with plenty of infographics and posts on everything from gardening and food to grilling and more. All the way until World Vegan Day on November first, there’s plenty of ways to celebrate National Vegetarian Month!

Until the word "vegetarian" was coined in the mid-1800's by the British Vegetarian Society, vegetarians were commonly referred to as Pythagoreans, after the Greek mathematician Pythagoras, who was oneof the earliest vegetarians on record.
National Vegetarian Month is always in October.
