Party Planning / Making a Charcuterie Board Party Festive

Today: Party Planning / Making a Charcuterie Board Party Festive

The Wonderful Part: It doesn't matter what theme of foods you add to your table it will only add to the glamor of how it looks. Charcuterie boards always look well put together and that's part of its charm. It does the work all on its own. The tradition of the food being on wooden boards or marble is a beautiful move in itself. They do this so the food stays cool because most all the food is cold food. All you have to do is "holiday the table up" by adding festive decorations. But not too many.

Great Idea! A fun and easy way to mark the Holiday:

Nothing beats a great photo to get your party ideas flowing does it. So, I've picked out the photo above to help everyone plan their charcuterie board parties. Here I have a great example of a charcuterie table that marks the occasion of the day. A great way to have a fun holiday table is to mark it by using the food, according to what holiday it is. It's so easy to take a board and spell out what you're celebrating with the food. You can use small wheels of cheese, nuts, grapes, olives or any other small type of foods that you feel you could spell with.

Here's a few Food Spelling ideas for you

  • For New Year's you can spell out what year you're celebrating just like the example above 🠝 shows.
  • For a birthday party spell out the age the person is turning.
  • Spell out the month your celebrating... like "JUNE"
  • Spell out the word "LOVE" for weddings
  • Spell out the word "LOVE" for Valentine's Day
  • Spell out the word "LOVE" for an anniversary party or the #year together
  • Spell out the word "CONGRATS" or "well done" for a congratulations party.
  • Spell out the name of the person your celebrating. Like.... "PAM"
  • For Christmas spell out the word "JOY"
  • For Halloween spell out the word "BOO"
  • For Thanksgiving spell out "THANKS"
  • For Easter spell out the words "HE LIVES"
  • For a Garden Party spell out the word "SPRING"
  • For a Autumn Party spell out the word "FALL"
  • Do you want to announce to your friends that your pregnant? Spell "BABY"
You get the idea right

There are many many many spelled words that you can use to decorate for your Charcuterie Board Party. The list is never ending. So mark that occasion! I think the main thing you will need to think about is how much space you have to spell the word. The fewer the letters the better it is - that's why I only went with short words for my examples.

Now don't forget to Frilly the table up some

It won't take very many added frillies to dress up a charcuterie table. A few glittery focal points here and there and your good to go. Take a look again at the top photo 🠝. It has a beautiful gold flower sitting to the right of the board that fills in some empty space. Use a couple stylish placemats to slightly show through the underside and that's all it needs.

The style of a charcuterie table has a bit of a rustic feel don't you think? I think it's because of all the wood platters that the food sits on so it's not necessary to have to play up the table to much. One simple decoration will go a long way.

Make sure you have the tools for the party:

A great thing to remember is get the tools for the party ahead of time. What I mean by that is the Charcuterie Acessories. You can go with simple tableware for a simple family party but for a party that's going to serve a lot of people... the traditional charcuterie board accessories are used. Sadly, I've always found it hard to find charcuterie supplies in the stores where I live. So if it's that way where your from; I've put a link here so my readers can see what styles are being used these days (🛒/ https://amzn.to/3OdVkD1)

Normally charcuterie accessories are short and stout with a big thump grip for easier holding. See photo 🠝 above. Every party needs cheese knives, meat forks, butter spreaders, mini tongs, slicers and mini sized spatulas for lifting. We can't forget about the small decorative bowls and bamboo picks if you find you need those too. What about honey dippers? Are you serving honey? You can get those in a mini version perfect to put in serving bowls. Oh oh... and cheese markers. Many party hosts choose to mark the name of each cheese that's on the table for the guests. So, everything you do depends on how much time your willing to put into the serving table. The link I suggested will show you some of all these too.

Matching accessories for Special Parties

Matching accessories just makes the table look so put together. It adds so much charm to the table and it just shines like all the sparkling decorations. It truly doesn't take much to pull off an impressive table that everyone will remember.

Creating a Charcuterie Board / Grazing Platter for movie night at home

It's movie night so what are you going to eat this time?

It's movie night at home so skip the potato chips and pizza and go with a charcuterie board for TV Time!  Too often we grab the potato chips, M&Ms, and salty popcorn when we settle into our comfy chair for movie night. But why not try something different and go with a "Charcuterie Board" full of treats. Not only will it feel like you went all out, but it will count as snack time and supper time too. The flavors on a Charcuterie board will satisfy both sweet, salty and savory taste buds alike. "Trust Me"

You know how it is when you're watching a movie...

You eat something sweet and then you need to eat something salty to get the sweet taste out of your mouth. Then you reach for something salty to get the sweet taste out of your mouth and it becomes a vicious circle of craving salt and sweet and salt and sweet. Well, I have good news! A Charcuterie Board will satisfy the full circle your taste buds crave.

A great way to use up the odds and ends in the refrigerator

How often have you looked in the fridge and found out you didn't have enough of this to do this, and you didn't have enough of that to do that? Well creating a TV Time Charcuterie Board using all the odds and ends in the refrigerator is the perfect way to go. This is a great way to clean out the refrigerator each week too.

So, here's what you do ~

It's traditional to put the food on a wooden board so go grab that big cutting board you have stuck in the corner of the kitchen that you never use. Open the fridge and drag out the last of the sandwich meat, the last of the 5 partial pieces of miscellaneous cheeses you have, find that 1/4 of a block of cream cheese that's about to mold... Drag out the last 12 olives in the jar, also drag out the scrapings of the sandwich spread that you made, drag out the end pieces of all 3 bags of bread you've had in there all week, and drag out those left-over carrots and celery that you had left from the chicken wings you ate yesterday. Wink~

Then reach to be back of the fridge and see what you feel.

I bet you find that awesome jar of special preserves that you were gifted from the last holiday. You know you forgot all about it and it would be great on this "Charcuterie Board of yummies". How about some spicy pickles? You got any of those? Then place all of the above on the wooden board.

Then take a look at what's left in the fridge.

What do you see? Do you have any flavored butters? Do you have any nuts? What about fruit? Do you have any grapes in there? What about figs? What about the last few crackers in the box? Well grab those too. You will find out you just cleaned out your fridge and gave you and your family a fantastic movie night supper.

Now take it all out of its old wrappings

Make it pretty now. Take it all out of its old wrappings and put it on the board. Once you do it's going to look like you just bought it and will fake everybody out. LOL~ You're going to say to yourself.... "Why haven't I done this before!!!" And you're going to be so proud that you cleaned out the fridge and made more room for the next grocery shopping spree your about to make too. Wink~

Closing words ~

💡That's my thoughts for today. It's good to be reminded that creating a delicious Charcuterie Board / Grazing Platter for yourself can be lots of fun to eat and can also clean out your fridge at the same time. What could be better right!  Well let me tell you... I just finished creating my very own Charcuterie Board. Yep!
