Party Planning / Making a Charcuterie Board Party Festive

Today: Party Planning / Making a Charcuterie Board Party Festive

The Wonderful Part: It doesn't matter what theme of foods you add to your table it will only add to the glamor of how it looks. Charcuterie boards always look well put together and that's part of its charm. It does the work all on its own. The tradition of the food being on wooden boards or marble is a beautiful move in itself. They do this so the food stays cool because most all the food is cold food. All you have to do is "holiday the table up" by adding festive decorations. But not too many.

Great Idea! A fun and easy way to mark the Holiday:

Nothing beats a great photo to get your party ideas flowing does it. So, I've picked out the photo above to help everyone plan their charcuterie board parties. Here I have a great example of a charcuterie table that marks the occasion of the day. A great way to have a fun holiday table is to mark it by using the food, according to what holiday it is. It's so easy to take a board and spell out what you're celebrating with the food. You can use small wheels of cheese, nuts, grapes, olives or any other small type of foods that you feel you could spell with.

Here's a few Food Spelling ideas for you

  • For New Year's you can spell out what year you're celebrating just like the example above 🠝 shows.
  • For a birthday party spell out the age the person is turning.
  • Spell out the month your celebrating... like "JUNE"
  • Spell out the word "LOVE" for weddings
  • Spell out the word "LOVE" for Valentine's Day
  • Spell out the word "LOVE" for an anniversary party or the #year together
  • Spell out the word "CONGRATS" or "well done" for a congratulations party.
  • Spell out the name of the person your celebrating. Like.... "PAM"
  • For Christmas spell out the word "JOY"
  • For Halloween spell out the word "BOO"
  • For Thanksgiving spell out "THANKS"
  • For Easter spell out the words "HE LIVES"
  • For a Garden Party spell out the word "SPRING"
  • For a Autumn Party spell out the word "FALL"
  • Do you want to announce to your friends that your pregnant? Spell "BABY"
You get the idea right

There are many many many spelled words that you can use to decorate for your Charcuterie Board Party. The list is never ending. So mark that occasion! I think the main thing you will need to think about is how much space you have to spell the word. The fewer the letters the better it is - that's why I only went with short words for my examples.

Now don't forget to Frilly the table up some

It won't take very many added frillies to dress up a charcuterie table. A few glittery focal points here and there and your good to go. Take a look again at the top photo 🠝. It has a beautiful gold flower sitting to the right of the board that fills in some empty space. Use a couple stylish placemats to slightly show through the underside and that's all it needs.

The style of a charcuterie table has a bit of a rustic feel don't you think? I think it's because of all the wood platters that the food sits on so it's not necessary to have to play up the table to much. One simple decoration will go a long way.

Make sure you have the tools for the party:

A great thing to remember is get the tools for the party ahead of time. What I mean by that is the Charcuterie Acessories. You can go with simple tableware for a simple family party but for a party that's going to serve a lot of people... the traditional charcuterie board accessories are used. Sadly, I've always found it hard to find charcuterie supplies in the stores where I live. So if it's that way where your from; I've put a link here so my readers can see what styles are being used these days (🛒/ https://amzn.to/3OdVkD1)

Normally charcuterie accessories are short and stout with a big thump grip for easier holding. See photo 🠝 above. Every party needs cheese knives, meat forks, butter spreaders, mini tongs, slicers and mini sized spatulas for lifting. We can't forget about the small decorative bowls and bamboo picks if you find you need those too. What about honey dippers? Are you serving honey? You can get those in a mini version perfect to put in serving bowls. Oh oh... and cheese markers. Many party hosts choose to mark the name of each cheese that's on the table for the guests. So, everything you do depends on how much time your willing to put into the serving table. The link I suggested will show you some of all these too.

Matching accessories for Special Parties

Matching accessories just makes the table look so put together. It adds so much charm to the table and it just shines like all the sparkling decorations. It truly doesn't take much to pull off an impressive table that everyone will remember.

5 Sprinkle Tips

Pirate Party

CIMG1426

"Ahoy, matey!" It's Pirate Party Time. Everyone loves the Golden Age of Piracy that's why everyone loves to host pirate parties. So in honor of pirate theme parties, pirate birthdays, Halloween & International Talk like a pirate day (celebrated on September 19)...Grrrr... we're about to "Party Like A Pirate!"

Hoist your colors.
Oskar's First Birthday - Pirate Ship Cake

Let's start with the table. Go with all natural wood for the rustic feel or go with a tablecloth. If you go with a tablecloth; the most common color are all black (since black is associated with pirates) or all blue which makes you think of sailing the ocean blue. Party stores have lot's of matching sets of napkins, paper plates and pirate banners.  Choose decorations like treasure chests, candles, pirate flags, chains, cannon balls. (all plastic props that can be found especially during Halloween) Add signs to each dish with pirate names to help your guests get in the spirit of pirates.

Avast!.... Ye needs ah bountiful table.
Pirate food

Arrr... you must have a bounty of pirate food on the table. I'm not saying you have to have loads of food (although Pirates were known to pig out while on land) but go with foods that theme the look and flavors of a pirate. Choose theme cakes or cupcakes for dessert.

"Shiver me bones" a knife stabbing party table.

On land pirates were meat eaters for sure. And for outdoor pirate parties it's common to see roasted pig. Yep, pig pickins are the choice for adult parties and platters of large leg bones (like turkey legs) are all the rage for narlyyy pirates to chew on. Pirate theme parties and children's birthday parties tend to leave out the pig carcass (Euh!) and stick to chicken wings and pulled pork sandwiches.

Arrr... Pirate Cakes
Treasure Chest cakeThe most popular cakes are treasure chest cakes that's surrounded with chocolate money, candy jewelry and chocolate sea shells. Pirate ship cakes can be decorated with malted milk balls (candy) that's just right for cannon balls.

Pirate Cupcakes
pirate cupcakesCupcakes are great for easy serving and can be made in a variety of ways. The most popular being skull-n-bones which are chocolate icing with the shape of a white skull piped on top. (see example) Pirate head cupcakes are easily made by using junior mints for the eye patch, fruit roll-ups for the bandannas and chocolate sprinkles are perfect for a scruffy pirate face. (see example) I call the style of cupcake to the right; a dead mans cupcake.

Pirate Pan Pizza
Pirate pizzaYou can't go wrong by serving a pirate face pizza especially at children's parties. Everyone love's pizza no matter the age so pirate that pizza up and serve it at your next pirate party. If it's a small group of people the personalized mini pizzas are perfect. If it's a large group of people; a large pizza works great too.

In Closing
Well I hope I rounded up a few ideas that will help on your next pirate party. Remember to mark your calendars(for International Talk like a pirate day . It's celebrated every year on September 19th and public pirate parties will be hosted everywhere too!

Cookie Cutter Fudge Gift

It's Christmas, everyone is expecting fun food and everyone is always looking for new gifting ideas too. Well I found this great idea for gifting fudge from Betty Crocker. This is a fabulous idea and Oh so easy too! Happy Cookie Cutter Week everyone! This is one idea I'm going to do myself.

Betty Crocker says "Here's a sweet gift for someone with everything. Place cookie cutters & fudge into cellophane gift bags, & tie with ribbons." Well I think that's a fabulous idea. I think it would also be fun to place a dozen of them in a flat box, you know like a candy box. How fun would that be to open a box of 12 different cookie cutters filled with homemade fudge! You could even use the cutters for brownies or cookies too.Wow I would love for someone to give me this as a gift myself. Really...

If you know someone who collects cookie cutter; this would be a great gift idea for them.

For A Dinner Dessert Idea:  Try serving your after dinner dessert in a over sized cookie cutter and let your guests eat it out of the cutter with a spoon. Then tell the guests they get to keep the cookie cutter as a parting gift. Great idea right! :) I love it!

This post is in honor of National Cookie Cutter Week which is celebrated the 1st week of December. We Blogged it here-
