The Weekend is here, and I have a lot of planned projects for my lemon balm.
I have a 3-foot tall and 3-foot-wide lemon balm plant in my herb garden that I want to use for a few special projects this weekend. First of all, I'm going to dehydrate some cutting. It will take about 24 hours to dehydrated on the herb setting. Then I will jar up (🛒canning jars) and save for a rainy-day tea. The fresh leaves work the best for tea that's for sure but dried will be ok too. If you mix both lemon balm and mint leaves together it tastes very nice. Ya know... lemon balm is in the mint family anyway but doesn't taste anything like mint.
Now to me... if you drink the dried leaves it tastes more earthy and if you use the fresh green leaves of the lemon balm it tastes more lemonbalmmy. But just remember... this is medicinal so don't go crazy on drinking the fresh leaves. It's like a mild sedative. (🛒lemon balm tea)

I will also crush up some of the dried leaves in fine powder for my homemade herbal supplements. I buy the blank capsules and fill them myself. (🛒blank capsules) I just really love the summer season when I can have so much fun with all my herbal health crafts. I just wanted to say... if your a person that doesn't like the sharp taste of real lemon then try the lemon balm plant in your tea instead. It doesn't have that sour thing going on but it does have the slight lemon flavor going on. lol! You may find it's just what your looking for.
Make a bouquet of lemon balm and put on the kitchen table. Flies don't seem to like it so they stay out of the kitchen.
Rub the leaves on your skin as an insect repellent. It really works and I like the smell.
