National Fried Chicken Day!

July 6 is National Fried Chicken Day You guys know I'm from the South and we love our fried chicken that's for sure. If fact we ate chicken ah-many-ah-Sundays after church when I was a little girl. I can't tell you how many times I pigged out on Aunt Pat's fried chicken. She could cook the best friend chicken ever and she always cooked it in a big black cast iron skillet too. Ummm umm it sure was good! If she was with us today; I would sure be knocking on her door to help her celebrate National Fried Chicken Day! hahaha!

I love how people have certain foods that define their childhoods. Mine was grandma's oven-baked 3-cheese mac 'n' cheese.

Awareness Dates just had a post on National Culinary Month and I was wondering if you would be celebrating with a special recipe or several recipes this month.

Gosh darn, I missed National Fried Chicken Day! I did manage to squeeze in a post for National Watermelon Month, though.

Thanks for sharing...

Ahh how'd did I miss this day? First of all, I love fried chicken. Second, it would be a perfect topic for my blog Zany Holidays

I grew up eating fried chicken on Sunday. Back then we lived on a farm and raised our own chickens. Father would do the ringing and plucking Mother would do the cooking. I could never watch. I'm 75 now and fried chicken is still served on Sunday. I buy it from the store. Mary Lou
