Happy Sunday friends! When I was a kid, Sunday was the best meal of the week and many times this was when we ate a beautiful roast baked in the oven with potatoes that were browned with crispy edges. So today I thought I would share with you the option of cooking a beef roast with coke and creating a super meat and potatoes meal.
Recipes using Coke as an ingredient are really very popular.
Let's talk about it. Even though coke is a favorite drink it's also a favorite ice cream dessert and used in a cake called the "coke cake". The sweetness of coke adds a nice touch to gravies and sauces. You can mix up a mean batch of homemade BBQ sauce with it too. Coke is used to marinate meats as a tenderizer, I love cocktail sausages boiled in coke instead of water too.
Pull-ah-part Coke Roast
- 2-3 lb Beef Roast
- 1-2 cups beef bouillon
- 1 12 oz can Coca Cola
- Garlic & Onion powder to taste
Place in slow cooker and cook on low for 4-7 hours (depending on roast, tenderness) When the meat shreds easily with a fork you have a WONDERFUL pull-ah-part beef sandwich meat. Or bake in the over with potatoes so the whole thing browns and crisps up.

My Closing Thoughts~
- 🥩If you like a BBQ sauce flavor, then think about adding 1/4 cup to 1/2 a cup of barbecue sauce to the recipe. Pour it over and let it bake into the meat. I've done this many times and if you also add a pack of powdered onion soup mix to the sauce it gives it double the flavor and makes a super BBQ GRAVY.
- 🎂Coca Cola roasts are special and would be great for a special birthday dinner. You could make it a coke theme party by baking a Coca-Cola cake too!
- 😁I hope this gave you something to think about when it comes to dressing up a cooked roast. If you have time to make some fresh crusty bread to go with it.... wow! A real meat and potatoes meal to remember.
- 📅National Roast Day is celebrated every June 29 / National Potato Day is celebrated every August 19 / National Potatoes Month is celebrated in September / National Meat Day is May 29th / cook roast & potatoes on these dates.
- Remember to... "Live everyday like a Holiday." Pam
