Turkey Frills are paper Frills or 'booties ~

Turkey Frills are paper frills or 'booties' that are placed on the end of turkey or other poultry drumsticks to make a beautiful presentation of the food. The products are called "paper frills" or turkey frills. They are available at supermarkets or through stores and/or their respective web sites. The size varies to fit different types of bird." You can even place frills on pork chops!

Turkey Frills became popular because it was thought meat looked better if the knotty end of the bone was covered up- so the paper frills were invented.

Turkey Frills are placed on after the turkey is cooked! If you place them on the bird while cooking, it will catch on fire!

Turkey Frills are placed on a cooked turkey for an elegant presentation.

Can you make paper frills if you can't find them in stores? Yes!

Step 1: Cut one 8 1/2 by 11 sheet of white printer paper in half.

Step 2: Fold each piece of paper in half.

Step 3: Hold both folded papers together and cut equally spaced strips on the folded side. Try to cut each frill the same depth and length, keeping up to 1/2" away from the end of the folded paper. If it's off a bit, don't worry- I will still turn out great :)

Step 4: Fluff out the frill! Open each frilled paper and fold in the opposite direction to add fullness to the frills.

Step 5: Then wrap each handmade frill around each cooked turkey leg and use a child safe glue stick to secure.

Dress up any dinner party with paper frills!

Paper Frills can be placed on any type of poultry drumsticks! Put them of chicken or even individual servings of cornish hens or quail :) It makes a beautiful dinner plate.
