Recipe for Brandy Alexander in honor of Brandy Alexander Day

Well what can I say?? I've had one of those kinda days where I wish I had the makings for a Brandy Alexander but I don't.😞 They are so darn good too. Instead I'm going to write this post and list the recipe so at least you can make one for yourself. Ha! 😜

Brandy Alexander Day which is celebrated every January 31st in the United States.

A Brandy Alexander is a brandy-based cocktail consisting of cognac, creme de cacao and cream that became popular during the early 20th century. It is a variation of an earlier, gin-based cocktail called simply an Alexander. The cocktail is widely known for having been John Lennon's favorite drink.

Ingredients

• 1/2 shot Gin or Brandy
• 1/2 shot Heavy cream (or half-and-half)
• 1/2 shot White creme de cacao

Garnishes

• Nutmeg

Instructions

1. Combine ingredients over ice
2. Shake and strain into glass
3. Sprinkle nutmeg on top
