The Old Farmer's Almanac 2018 Gardening Calendar

Every year my parents would buy the old Farmer's Almanac. It was one of those little books you would find laying in a chair on the front porch. Now-ah-days you can find the Almanac and the Almanac Calendar which I talk about here.

A perennial favorite for more than 40 years:
this remarkable calendar offers beautiful full-color illustrations and timely gardening advice, fun facts, quotes, and lore. Special bonus: A "best days" table tells when to plant 36 vegetables and grains according to the Moon's phases and regional climate.

Biography

The Old Farmer's Almanac is North America's best-selling periodical and oldest almanac—started in 1792 (during George Washington's first term as president). A calendar of the heavens, The Old Farmer's Almanac speaks to all walks of life: forecasts for those who don't like the question of weather left up in the air; tide tables for those who live near the ocean; sunrise and planting charts for those who garden; recipes for those who live in the kitchen; Moon phases for those who love to watch the sky; folklore, wit, wisdom, home remedies, healthy living, and advice. The words of our founder, Robert B. Thomas, guide us still: "strive always to be useful, but with a pleasant degree of humor." The famous Almanac also publishes calendars, cookbooks, gardening guides, weather journals, digital magazines, apps, and more.
